The immersion practice is carried out at the Vanguardia Rural Educational Institution, which is located at kilometer 1, via Nueva Restrepo, Vanguardia village, Villavicencio Meta. The educational actors studied in practice are a group of 12 students, made up of nine boys and two girls, who are in the fifth grade of primary school.
Children who are between 10 and 12 years old and come from areas close to the institution. Most of them are residents of an ICBF boarding school located in the vicinity of the school. As for the classroom environment, it is equipped with desks, chairs, a blackboard or blackboard, and a television that is used to project content from the computer.
On the other hand, it is important to highlight that these children come from a complex context. Some of them do not have access to the Internet, which limits their online learning opportunities. In addition, several of the students have been victims of psychological abuse as they come from a marginalized population where they have experienced difficult situations. This can affect their educational process and, in some cases, is reflected in their level of concentration and motivation to learn. Despite these challenges, it is evident that these children are interested in learning and improving their English skills, which makes teaching even more meaningful and rewarding.
